Our School

Founded in 1850 by the subscription of local people, the school has a long history of providing education to children form local communities. Each child has unique and individual needs for support and challenge, and so we teach each child as an individual and work closely with parents through a home-school partnership.  We aim to have each child leave us with exceptional standards in reading, writing, numeracy & science, but critically to foster self-motivation, excitement & love of learning.

Central to our approach is putting “Creativity” at the heart of our curriculum with the use of teaching styles and methods that promote creative thinking in our children. In this context creativity does not mean “artistic”, but means the application of original, out of the box thinking. We intend for children to leave us with emerging skills in creative & critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork, research, analysis & communication.

At Eversholt School we believe we create a buzz of excitement from pushing boundaries, finding solutions and solving problems.

Standards at our school have been recognized by Ofsted who’s last report was published in January 2009 – see our download section for a copy. We were rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted in 24 of 25 categories, with our only non-outstanding rating being a “good” in community cohesion. This overall rating of the school was confirmed by Central Bedfordshire Council in July 2011.
